Frequently Asked Questions
What is surplus toner?
Surplus toner is toner that is sourced through overstock, clearance, closeout and liquidation inventory of original equipment manufactured (OEM) ink & toners for copiers, printers and fax machines. This can be as simple as someone changed their printer before opening the box.
Should I be worried about surplus toner?
First off, we guarantee all of our surplus toner as new, unused, factory sealed where applicable and fit for purpose. Ie: it is new, however may have cosmetic damage to the outer packaging due to previous shipping and / or warehousing.
What is an OEM / Genuine product?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, also called genuine products. This is when a company such as Canon, Xerox, Epson, Hewlett Packard, and Lexmark produce inkjet printers and printer cartridges. These are normally the highest grade product to give you the best print quality and optimisation of yield from your printer.
OEM or genuine indicates that it is the product produced by the manufacturer of the equipment. Other companies manufacture supply items for equipment they do not manufacture, they are called compatible products..
What is a compatible product?
Compatible products are manufactured by a company other than the Original Equipment Manufacturer and will operate in a specific product made by the OEM.
